Hello! The team at neutral7 design group is happy to announce the release of the new Gainesville Fashion Week brand for the upcoming season.
The overall theme this time around is “projection”. GFW has been instrumental in helping to project everyone involved into their careers, the community, and beyond; from designers, artists, and musicians to PR, marketing and event professionals working behind the scenes. For the upcoming season we will be celebrating this spirit by exploring new ways to help project everyone involved.
This year’s logo was designed by UF graduate Alex Coyle. The logo mark is a dynamic, futuristic, versatile, and exciting identity that uses simple, polygonal shapes. The logo pushes and pulls in perspective, creating an active image with angles reminiscent of projections and spotlights, imagery commonly associated with fashion events. The design also symbolizes an explosion of talents merging together, coming from all angles, working and joining together into one shape. The typography balances and complements the mark, but it was designed in a simple neutral way to offset the wildness of the exploding mark as well as to promote the message of the event in an elegant way. Finally the color palette was selected to support using kelly green; a beautiful color that we feel gets very little love. The GFW 2013 identity evokes the ambience and energy of the annual event.
GFW 2013 planning is on its way and the event will continue to focus on Fashion, Art, Music and Culture in the Gainesville community. For more information visit the Facebook page.
