neutral7 Releases Official GFW 2012 Branding!

Bringing people together - Gainesville Fashion Week 2012
Mark your calendars! The Gainesville Fashion Week team is at it again. The 2011 runway was dismantled six months ago, yet the creative minds behind the 5-day event, Albert Coronel and Tiffany Williams, began preparations for GFW 2012 almost immediately after the final catwalk. The new branding is complete and will be released Monday, October 3, through all of our media channels.
GFW 2012 is a 5-day long series of events that focuses on Fashion, Art, Music and Culture in the Gainesville community.
The inspiration for next year’s event is scientific connections. GFW 2012 is creating a parallel between the interactions happening in the science world and the collaborations that take place during this event. Just like the scientific reactions that occur when combining different elements, GFW hopes to act as a catalyst for stimulating connections and bringing people together within the Gainesville community. This year the development of the brand began almost immediately after gfw 2011. It's been a collaboration of existing and new designers in the process. The final design was created by the new GFW director of design William Newton under the art direction of Albey Coronel and Chrissy Sedgley of neutral7 design group.
Creative Brief:
Gainesville Fashion Week 2012 is a 5-day long series of events that focuses on Fashion, Art, Music and Culture in the Gainesville community. This year, our inspiration is scientific connections. GFW 2012 is creating a parallel between the interactions happening in the science world and the collaboration that takes place during this event. Tag lines like “let’s make chemistry”, “cause a reaction”, “be a catalyst”, “form a bond”, “push the element” and “make a connection” are reinforcing this parallel between GFW and science. The GFW 2012 visual campaign uses scientific imagery from chemistry, physical science, and biological science. These visuals reference theories, formulas, and principles of the branches of physical science.Just like in scientific reactions, GFW hopes to act as a catalyst for stimulating connections and bringing people together within the Gainesville community.
The magnitude of the 2012 team is larger than ever. With over 75 internship applications received, the applicants will be narrowed down to fill nine available positions. The new team behind the electrifying event will be announced in a few weeks.
January 22, 2012 will be the official GFW model casting call and kickoff the three-month countdown until show time. Casting will be held at Neutral7 Design Group, from 12 to 5 p.m. Last year’s turnout was huge. Over 200 people participated; this year we anticipate the figures to be even larger.
Our goal is focused on making connections and pushing different creative elements to come together. GFW is more than fashion; it is an event that has something for everyone. For more information please contact Tiffany Williams: gfwllc@gmail.com, 904-502-2914.
